Working Safely in Mud

As temperatures fluctuate, muddy conditions occur, which increases the risk of slips, falls, overexertion, and poor posture. Prolonged standing in muddy conditions can cause joint stiffness and foot, knee, hip, and back issues as your feet sink and stick into the mud. One preventative measure is to carry a piece of plywood to stand on. This surface displaces your weight and reduces the amount you will sink into the mud--minimizing fatigue, musculoskeletal disorders, and workplace injuries while improving safety and efficiency.

Sciatic Nerve Flossing

Sciatic neural flossing helps reduce sciatic nerve pain by improving mobility, reducing tension, and enhancing flexibility. It gently mobilizes the sciatic nerve, relieving compression from conditions like sciatica or piriformis syndrome. To perform: Sit or lie down, extend one leg, flex the foot, and slowly move the head forward and back while alternating foot movements. Repeat 10-15 times per leg. This helps ease nerve irritation and improve range of motion.

Red Light Therapy Benefits

Red light therapy (RLT) is a non-invasive treatment that promotes pain relief, muscle recovery, and skin health. By using low-level red light, it stimulates cell repair, reduces inflammation, and improves circulation. RLT enhances cellular health by stimulating mitochondria, boosting ATP production, and accelerating tissue repair and regeneration. For physically active workers, it can help reduce muscle fatigue, joint pain, and strain, easing soreness and improving flexibility for faster recovery after strenuous shifts.
