Using a Golfer’s Lift

A golfer’s lift is a technique that allows you to easily pick up items from the ground with minimal stress on the spine. To perform a golfer’s lift, you must always maintain two points of contact. While supporting yourself with one hand on a stable object, keep your back straight, raise the leg opposite the supporting hand, and bend down to pick up the object. The golfer’s lift is ideal for lifting smaller and lighter objects and can reduce the force required from the spine to perform the lift.

Tips for Bench Press

One of the most popular and revered weight-lifting exercises is the bench press. Due to the often heavy weight associated with the lift, it is essential to perform it correctly. Keep a firm grip on the bar throughout the movement, keep the elbows tucked, and keep your chest up. When bringing the bar to the chest, ensure the back, hips, glutes, and legs are stable and engaged. Once the bar touches the chest, drive your feet downward and push the bar back up in front of you.
