Painting Ergonomics

Painting a room in your house, painting for a project at work, or painting a picture or sign all require you to follow the same ergonomic principles. Use a ladder or step stool to keep work in your power zone. Move supplies like paint cans, brushes, and tools off the ground and onto an elevated surface to decrease constant bending and twisting. Utilize a kneeling pad when painting near floor level or on a large surface. Lastly, take regular ergo breaks to reset posture after painting for long periods.

National Wear Red Day

Hula Hooping

Using a weighted hula hoop can decrease fat mass around the abdomen, strengthen the core, and lower LDL cholesterol when compared to walking. You only need 13 minutes a day to start seeing these health benefits. To do a basic weighted hula hoop exercise, stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and place the hoop around your waist. Rotate the hoop by moving your hips rhythmically.
